THE WOODS

In this self-driven assignment, I wanted to capture a very mysterious and ominous mood utilizing female models in a woodland setting. I used a black and white infrared DSLR to capture the images, giving an extremely off-beat rendering of color and value, deepening contrast and changing eyes to solid black. I also constructed a 4x4 ft. pond out of wood boards and tarp in order to create a waterbed within the studio, freeing me of the unpredictability of outdoor lighting. The large image on the left was selected for Baylor University Art Department's juried Student Show in 2016.
